Hotels in Lucerne

Geographically, it lies in the heart of Switzerland; historically, it is the birthplace of Switzerland: the Lake Lucerne Region with the world famous city of Lucerne.

Its landscape is shaped by the spectacular world of the Alps, covered in a magical blanket of fluffy snow in winter. The Lake Lucerne Region is the “pocket-size version” of Switzerland. No other region offers so many memorable Swiss vacation moments in such a small amount of space: be it while enjoying raclette on a winter boat ride on Lake Lucerne, spending a day in the snow in the foothills of the Alps with a panoramic view of the mountains or taking a winter stroll through Lucerne, the “Festival City” and “Christmas City” in the heart of Switzerland.

Avant-garde is just as much a part of the city, with the modern KKL Luzern (Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne) designed by Jean Nouvel, as the sights which have attracted guests for centuries. The museums, theatres and festivals have all contributed to establishing Lucerne as a culture city, which elegantly accommodates both tradition and trend. Enjoy memorable excursions on a paddle-steamer on Lake Lucerne, soak up pure nature on the close-by mountains and relax in the mild climate of the “Lucerne Riviera” with its leading offers of wellness hotels. The idyllic lakeside villages of Weggis and Vitznau on the shores of Lake Lucerne on the sunny southern flank of Mt. Rigi offer a variety of holiday experiences.

Lucerne – Lake Lucerne Region look forward to welcome you here!

Promenade to the Chapel Bridge and in Lucerne’s Old Town

A world famous photo and post-card scene and a very good reason to visit Lucerne; the chapel bridge with its water tower is Lucerne's city landmark. The paintings on the bridge illustrate scenes of Swiss and local history. The bridge used to be part of the city’s historic fortification, just as the Musegg wall with its nine towers from where you have a wonderful view over the city, the lake and the mountains.
